Food allergy in children: modern aspects of pathogenesis and approaches to therapy and prophylaxis

Prevalence and etiology of food allergy, as well as modern insight on its mechanisms of development, pathogenesis and the role of genetic and immune factors are presented in this article. Clinical-immunological variants of food allergy are presented. The questions concerning diagnosis, dietotherapy, pharmacotherapy and prophylaxis of food allergy in children also are elucidated.
