In the review of the literature data, the usual views on the pathogenesis of drug hypersensitivity reactions mediated by the reactions of antibodies with antigens are briefly presented. In addition, data, that give an idea of other, fundamentally different mechanisms, which are described by a new concept of the interaction of drugs with the cells of the immune system are presented. It is shown that the processes, that this concept operates on, have practical clinical significance, studies in this field can supplement the usual views on the mechanisms of the formation of drug hypersensitivity reactions, and further research in this field can make a significant contribution to the prevention of pathological conditions associated with taking medications, to present the possibility of differential diagnosis of such reactions and, consequently, to increase the effectiveness of measures to stop these conditions.
